National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC)

Membership Rules Issued 24^thNovember 2006.

• 1. In these Rules:
1. “The Association” means the unincorporated association of Members of NAWIC which stands for National Association of Women in Construction of the United Kingdom and which shall be referred to as ”NAWIC”;
2. “The Rules” means the Rules of the Association;
3. “Secretary” means Pam Allardice or any other person appointed to perform the duties of the Secretary of the Association, including a joint, assistant or deputy secretary;
4. “Annual Subscription” means an annual subscription of £36.00 for individual membership or £10 for student membership of the Association or such other amount as may be determined by the Committee from time to time;
5. “Friends” means individuals, organisations, companies and partnerships who pay an annual Friends Sponsorship Fee of £150 or such other amount as the Committee decide from time to time and who receive information and may attend NAWIC events but are not Members;
6. “Committee” means those Members (including Founder Members) who have been elected and/or appointed to the Committee to manage the affairs of the Association. The original Committee are those Founder Members listed in Schedule 1 to the Rules;
7. “Chairman” means Katrina Dowding or any other person appointed to perform the duties of the chairman, including a deputy Chairman;
8. “Founder Members” means the original Members of the Association listed in Schedule 2 of the Rules;
9. An “Individual Member” means a woman who is involved or has been involved in the Construction Industry and has paid an Annual Subscription set by the Committee from time to time in respect of her individual membership for that year;
10. A “Student Member” means a woman who is enrolled on a course of study relating to construction at a recognised educational institution either on a full or a part time basis and has paid an Annual Subscription set by the Committee from time to time in respect of student membership for that year;
11. “Members” means those women who have paid the appropriate Annual Subscription and have been admitted as Individual Members or Student Members from time to time but shall not include Friends;
12. “Treasurer” means Wendy Lintin or any other person appointed to perform the duties of the treasurer, including a joint, assistant or deputy Treasurer.
