Dear NAWIC member,

Due to forces beyond our control, bad summer weather etc., we were unable to arrange our promised trip to York Races for the last two years.  However, this year with renewed vigour, lots of enthusiasm and some good weather luck this year we are intending to organise a fantastic day out for both members and guests.

The event will comprise a 55 seater coach leaving the centre of Manchester around 11.00am on the designated day, around hour and a half trip to York in time for the first race, the afternoon races, and collection by the coach after the last race around 4.30ish.  Each ticket will include an elegant packed lunch including small bottle of champagne and entry into the County Stand. Members wishing to arrange their own luncheons at the racecourse may do so.

In order to maximise numbers of members and guests wishing to take advantage of this superb event, we will need early and definite commitment, as we will need to book both the coach and advance entry tickets (to avoid queuing) so prompt payment will be essential
 
Having consulted the fixture list this summer there are two possible dates that we could attend

1)  Music Showcase day Saturday 26th July, full afternoon racing followed by a pop band playing (possibly Killer Queen tribute band) £24 entry

2) Ladies Day at the Ebor festival Thursday 21st August (posh frocks and big hats and champagne!) £50 entry

There is a cost difference between the two events and also if we decide to go to the Ebor festival - it does fall on a working day so that has to be considered.

We also have not worked out a 'package' price for the event yet but clearly from seeing the entry price you can get an idea of costs.

In order to be cost effective, we will need to fill the 55 seater coach so we would be obliged if you could indicate ASAP;

a)  if you are interested in coming to the event

b)  how many would there be in your party

c)  which of the two events you would prefer
