Savoy Hotel Restoration

2010 in London and the Southeast kicked off with a site visit to a historic and iconic site. On the 24 March 2010, Chorus Group was kind enough to host a morning and afternoon site visit and walk through of the newly renovated and restored Savoy Hotel, shortly before completion and re-opening. The Savoy Hotel, located in a prime position on the Strand in London is a 268-bed luxury hotel. Originally opened in 1889 and currently a Grade II listed building, the hotel underwent a £100+ million renovation incorporating modern technologies and conveniences and a strong focus on sustainability. It closed in December 2007 and re-opened in 2010. The feedback from the day was that “it was fascinating to get a view and understanding of the historic importance of this site”. It really was a unique project and we were privileged to be allowed a glimpse into the restoration before it was opened to the public.
