Speed Networking Event

On 23 May 2011, the Midlands branch of NAWIC held a speed networking event. This event, which was kindly sponsored by Pinsent Masons, was a great opportunity for NAWIC members and supporters to get together to practice their networking skills. The event commenced with a short session on tips for sucessful networking, where the attendees were very much encouraged to exchange business cards with those people they met that they thought they could do business with.

All those that attended the event had the opportunity to meet more than 10 other attendees, all from the construction industry. The feedback from the event was good, with one attendee commenting that she had not found networking so easy and enjoyable ever before and was happy to be taking home more than half a dozen business cards, which she fully intended to follow up on.

This sort of event is very much the kind that the Midlands branch of NAWIC would like to become known for, as we recognise the importance of providing a comfortable, supported environment in which to practice and develop networking skills.
