Call for entries - First Women Awards

Nominations are open for the 2012 First Women Awards

Construction Industry Solutions (COINS), a global provider of business systems and services, will sponsor the Built Environment Award in this year’s First Women Awards. The decision to sponsor this new category aims to raise the profile and promote the groundbreaking work performed by women in this major industry sector.

Now in its eighth year, the First Women Awards, championed by the CBI, recognises and celebrates the outstanding businesswomen across the UK. ‘Women in the Built Environment’ is a brand new category created to specifically acknowledge the inspirational work carried out by women in a historically predominantly male environment.

Bev James, Marketing Director, COINS said, ‘We fully support these awards and will be working hard to encourage both our customers, colleagues and industry contacts to nominate those pioneering women whose achievements have set the benchmark in the business world for others to follow.’

Nominations are open to women in all areas of construction and the built environment, including architects, lawyers, consultants, engineers, quantity surveyors, project managers and others working both directly in the industry and providing services to the industry.

Past winners of this high profile programme include Gaynor Coley, managing director of The Eden Project, and Michelle McDowell, chair of civil and structural engineering, BDP.

Closing date for entries is 13th April 2012. Nomination forms can be downloaded at http://fwa.realbusiness.co.uk/nominations. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Connaught Rooms, London on June 28th which will be hosted by sports personality and presenter, Clare Balding.
