Lucy Lund is a construction project manager with over 10 years in the construction industry. She studied at Cardiff university to obtain a masters degree in civil engineering, design and management.
After university she went straight into consulting engineering and worked as a civil engineer for 4 years with Buro Happold. During this time she worked on many varied project, ranging from drainage design to highways design, eventually specialising in rivers and coastal engineering.
Her career then took a different path as she took on the role of a Producer if the Civil Engineer's Channel. This was a subscription based company that produced training videos for engineers. As well as picking up the art if script writing and interviewing, Lucy visited a wide variety of sites during her role as producer, and met many members of the projects she visited.
During this time, Lucy realised she wanted to become a project manager, and set about making that happen. In 2006 she joined Capita Symonds (now known only as Capita) and has loved every minute of project management since. Her projects range from £100m multi use commercial developments to much smaller heritage and schools projects, each bringing their own challenges and rewards.
Lucy joined the NAWIC committee in 2012 and has enjoyed making friends and contacts through the events that are organised. In 2013 she became chair of the South and South West branch and is looking forward to arranging events for the year and building up the committee and membership.
